How we started

Solana Insight Journal began when three researchers in Glasgow noticed the same pattern: newcomers arrived through social headlines but lacked a neutral place to read longer explanations. We opened a small editorial desk in 2021 to publish articles, maintain annotated reading lists, and offer briefings for readers who preferred conversation over comment threads.

We are not affiliated with Solana Labs, the Solana Foundation, or any token issuer. References to Solana appear solely to identify the network we study.

What we do today

  • Publish journal articles on network mechanics, security habits, and ecosystem categories
  • Deliver one-to-one briefings and small workshops with written follow-ups
  • Curate the Reading Room — themed lists with notes on why each source matters

Our approach

We read primary documentation, validator dashboards, and application specs before writing. When evidence is uncertain, we say so. We avoid urgency language, yield promises, and anonymous tips.

The team

Dr. Fiona Reid — former university lecturer in distributed systems; leads consensus and staking explainers.
Marcus Okoye — investigative researcher; tracks ecosystem applications and documentation changes.
Helen Shaw — editorial coordinator; manages briefings, workshops, and reader correspondence.

Working with readers

Most readers start with a journal article, then book a briefing when they need scope on a single topic. Workshops suit groups who want a shared vocabulary. We respond to contact form messages within two working days.

Values

Clarity over hype. Citations over anecdotes. Education without disguised sales pitches.
